CAIRO, April 03, 2018 - Prime Minister Sherif Ismail on Tuesday chaired a meeting that discussed the application of the new health insurance law. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Health, the Chairman of Administrative Control Authority, and the Ministry of Finance, to discuss the recent steps taken to enforce the law. The meeting also reviewed prices of medical services, preparing health care units, improving the quality of medical services, and setting up an electronic health information service. The meeting also discussed setting up a LE338 healthcare unit in Port Said Governorate, the first governorate that will apply the new insurance law. In another development, the Prime Minister witnessed on Tuesday the signing of a memorandum of understanding on co-operation in the field of communications and information technology between the Egyptian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Ministry of Communications and Informatisation of the Republic of Belarus. This came after Premier Ismail's meeting with Minister of Communications and Informatisation of Belarus Sergei Popkov, in the presence of Minister of Communications and Information Technology Yasser el-Qadi, and the Ambassador of Belarus in Cairo, Sergei A. Rachkov. The meeting comes within the framework of mutual interest in boosting the long-standing economic relations between Cairo and Minsk. The MoU, in effect for three years, aims to expand co-operation and exchange of expertise among companies, scientific and educational institutions, government agencies and other organisations working in the field of communications and information technology in both countries.
