Cairo - (BelTA) – Plans are under consideration to hold the first Belarusian-African forum in Minsk, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Egypt Sergei Rachkov said in an interview with Diplomacy Magazine, BelTA has learned. "I have had several meetings with Benedict Oramah, President of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank). We have established strong business relations with him and also with the heads of other large Egyptian banks, financial and insurance companies. The organization of support for joint investment and industrial projects was the focus of the talks with the Egyptian side. Now we are also considering plans to organize the first Belarusian-African forum in Minsk with the assistance of Afreximbank," Sergei Rachkov said. The diplomat added that the Belarusian Embassy is working to develop ties with Egyptian banking and financial institutions. The main goal of this work is to find financial support for joint projects. "The financing of these projects by banking and financial institutions will help us boost the bilateral trade and the export of Belarusian and Egyptian products through the organization of supplies to neighboring countries," Sergei Rachkov noted.
