Egypt, UAE sign deal on electricity cooperation

CAIRO, April 3 (MENA) - Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed el-Assar and Minister of Electricity Mohamed Shaker on Tuesday attended the signing ceremony of a protocol between the National Authority for Military Production and the Advanced Technology Development LLC (ATD company of the UAE).
The agreement is aimed at upgrading Egyptian power plants through efficient use of energy and local manufacture of spare parts, said Assar in statements after the signing ceremony.
The military production companies have the technological potentials along with the human capacity to manufacture spare parts for the power plants, he added.
This agreement will help save much of the maintenance and operation cost of power plants in Egypt, he added.
