New Furniture City project moving ahead

CAIRO, March 29, 2018 - THE first phase of building the new furniture city in Damietta will be completed next May, the Minister of Trade and Industry, Tarek Qabil, said yesterday.
Minister Qabil said that the new city, which includes 1,400 industrial units, represented an important step towards upgrading the local furniture industry.
The city, Minister Qabil said, is an integrated facility that includes all the stages of manufacturing furniture pieces.
The furniture industry, which accommodates 13 per cent of the total Egyptian labour force, contributes to enhancing Egyptian exports to foreign markets.
