CAIRO, March 13, 2018 - Minister of Public Enterprise Sector Khaled Badawi yesterday met the Ukrainian Ambassador in Cairo, Hennadii Latii, to discuss ways of boosting co-operation in diverse domains. According to a ministry statement, Minister Badawi stressed his keenness on benefitting from Ukrainian expertise in the industrial sector and highlighted the investment opportunities available in the country. He pointed out that the ministry wanted to implement a comprehensive upgrading of its companies, especially the insolvent ones, with the aim of increasing their output and improving the quality and competitiveness of their products. Ambassador Latii said that Egypt was Ukraine's most important partner in the Middle East at every level, especially the economic and political levels. He pointed out that the trade volume between the two countries exceeded $2.0 billion last year, and there had been a remarkable increase in Egypt's exports to Ukraine. The ambassador stressed the Ukrainian companies' interest in co-operating with the ministry's companies and he mentioned the investment ventures in which the Ukrainian companies were involved, in Egypt.
