CAIRO, March 9, 2018 - Immigration and Expatriate Affairs Minister Nabila Makram commended army and police martyrs Friday. Makram also paid homage to martyrs' wives and mothers, saying they had offered their country huge sacrifices in the war against terrorism. Egypt faces major challenges, Makram said in a ministry statement. The most important of these challenges is terrorism and the battle against the poisonous ideology propagated by terrorists. Egypt's women are at the heart of the nation's battle against terrorism as they are the ones who raise a new generation of fighters against terrorism and the terrorist ideology, the minister added. Makram is currently on a visit to Canada to encourage Egyptian ex-patriates there to participate in the presidential election slated for March 26.
