Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Hassan El-Khatib, met with Sudanese Minister of Minerals, Nour El-Dayim Mohamed, and his delegation to explore ways to strengthen economic relations between Egypt and Sudan. The meeting also reviewed a range of issues of mutual interest. El-Khatib reiterated Egypt's continued commitment to supporting Sudan's stability and economic development. He emphasized that Egypt's support aligns with its broader position of backing Sudan's efforts for peace and progress. The minister also highlighted Egypt's ongoing investments in infrastructure, noting that over the past decade, significant resources have been directed toward creating an attractive investment environment. El-Khatib stressed the need to implement a clear action plan to enhance trade exchange and investment cooperation between the two countries. He called for concrete steps to maximize joint efforts and increase mutual economic activity. This meeting, he noted, marks the beginning of establishing solid foundations for future economic cooperation, aimed at boosting trade volumes and fostering mutual investments. Additionally, El-Khatib proposed the establishment of an Egyptian–Sudanese Business Council and emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between the business communities of both countries. He expressed readiness to lead the first Egyptian business delegation to Sudan in the near future. The Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade is also eager to cooperate with Sudan in the gold sector and fully utilize the country's mineral resources. El-Khatib suggested potential collaboration in training and human capital development, underscoring the importance of setting a date for the upcoming Egyptian–Sudanese Joint Trade Committee meetings, which would address key bilateral cooperation issues. Sudanese Minister of Minerals, Nour El-Dayim Mohamed, acknowledged Egypt as a "second home" for the Sudanese people and expressed appreciation for Egypt's ongoing support in various international and regional forums.
