Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly held a meeting on Sunday to discuss ways to develop Egyptian exports to Africa. The meeting was attended by Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Ali Moselhi, Minister of Transport Kamel al-Wazir, Minister of Public Business Sector Mahmoud Eissa, and Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir.
Madbouly stressed the government's commitment to supporting trade between Egypt and African countries. He said that increasing exports would support productive sectors, create jobs, and boost economic growth.
During the meeting, al-Wazir presented the Ministry of Transport's vision for operating regular maritime lines to transport goods and food products to African countries. He said that the ministry is ready to transport any goods to Africa, and that it has contracts with the world's largest shipping lines. He also said that the ministry has coordinated with the Minister of Trade and Industry and the Export Council for Agricultural Crops, and that it has contracted three ships to transport grains and general goods to Africa.
Madbouly directed the Minister of Trade and Industry to hold a meeting with al-Wazir and representatives of all export councils to discuss the government's efforts to provide transportation for goods to African countries.
The meeting also discussed the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade's vision for developing the milling sector. Minister Moselhi highlighted the ministry's efforts to upgrade the efficiency of a number of flour mills across the country, as well as its role in providing wheat to the subsidized and open-market systems to meet the needs of citizens.
