Amr El-Kady, CEO of the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board (ETPB), has stressed the importance of the Italian tourist market, which is one of the largest tourism exporting markets to Egypt.
His remarks came on the sidelines of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities organization for an introductory visit for a number of representatives of Italian tourism companies to get acquainted with the tourist and archaeological elements in Sharm El-Sheikh
The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by the ETPB, organized an introductory visit for 186 representatives of Italian tourism companies to Sharm El-Sheikh to get acquainted with its tourism and archaeological potentials, in cooperation with one of the largest Italian tour operators.
During this introductory visit, representatives of Italian tourism companies made a tour during which they visited a number of hotels and tourist places in Sharm El-Sheikh. Members of the Authority's office in Sharm El-Sheikh gave them souvenirs and promotional materials in Italian about the tourist and archaeological potentials of the Egyptian tourist destination.
For his part, ETPB`s CEO explained that this introductory visit comes within the framework of the ministry's keenness to introduce representatives of Italian tourism companies to the various types, products and tourism and archaeological elements that the Egyptian tourist destination enjoys, especially the city of Sharm El-Sheikh, stressing the depth of relations between Egypt and Italy, pointing to aspects of bilateral cooperation between the two countries in many fields, including tourism.
On the sidelines of this visit, the authority organized a workshop to discuss ways to attract more tourist traffic coming from the Italian market to the Egyptian tourist destination. It was attended by Islam Nabil, supervisor of the ETPB in South Sinai, and Mr. Mohamed Abdel-Ghany, member of the technical office of the CEO of the ETPB and the former tourist attache in Italy, and a number of officials and representatives of Italian tourism companies participating in the introductory visit.
During the workshop Mohamed Abdel-Ghany reviewed, through a presentation in Italian, the diversity of the Egyptian tourist destination and all the types, products and tourism components that characterize it, in addition to the incentives offered by the Egyptian state to attract more tourist traffic to Egypt and encourage tour operators to organize Tourism trips to it, in addition to reviewing what the Egyptian state is doing to link tourism products to each other to create an integrated tourism product that combines different tourism patterns, such as merging the beach and recreational tourism product with the cultural tourism product.
He also talked about the most prominent major national projects, including the new Egyptian cities such as the city of Galala and the new city of El Alamein, pointing out that these projects contribute to strengthening and increasing investment opportunities in various places in Egypt.
