Egypt recovered more than 110 artefacts in 2022

Egypt was able to recover more than 120 artefacts in 2022, according to the country's Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
Ahmed Issa, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, said this was done by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, in cooperation with all national authorities, led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Justice, Interior and all security agencies.
He added, during a press conference with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, that in recent years 29,300 artefacts have been recovered from several foreign and Arab countries, and for example, Egypt succeeded in 2021 in recovering 53,000 artefacts, and more than 110 artefacts in 2022 from New Zealand, USA, France and others.

In November 2022, Egypt recovered 6 pieces from the United Arab Emirates.
December also witnessed a lot of retrieving, as 28 artefacts were recovered from Uruguay, and 50 artefacts were retrieved from England, consisting of 49 pieces of papyrus and a stone piece from the Temple of Hatshepsut. In addition to retrieving an artefact from France.
Furthermore, about 3,496 artefacts were seized at Egyptian ports before they left the country illegally in 2022.
