Egypt is one of fastest growing markets, Uber supports national development projects: Uber VP to Al-Sisi

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi met Tony West, Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer, and Corporate Secretary at Uber, during a US Chamber of Commerce gala dinner in Washington DC on Thursday,
During the discussion, West reaffirmed Uber's ongoing commitment to the Egyptian market: "Egypt is one of our fastest growing and dynamic markets. This year, we proudly reached a milestone of completing 500 million rides, helping millions of riders move across cities and creating more than 700 thousand economic opportunities for Egyptians. We remain committed to supporting transformation projects that will unlock mobility options for the entire local community," said West.
West expressed Uber's mission to deliver a much broader economic impact in the Egyptian market, including Uber's global commitment to becoming a zero-emission mobility platform by 2040, which was reflected in its participation at Cop27; launching financially inclusive payments solutions for drivers; and choosing Egypt for many global-first launches, such as Uber Shuttle and Uber Shuttle for Business.
Uber's mission is to bring reliable transportation to everywhere, for everyone. We started in 2010 to solve a simple problem: how do you get a ride at the touch of a button? Seven years and more than two billion trips later, we have started tackling an even greater challenge: reducing congestion and pollution in our cities by getting more people into fewer cars.
In the Middle East, Uber is already in Amman, Bahrain, Beirut, Dammam, Dubai, Doha, Istanbul, Jeddah, Karachi, Lahore, Madinah, Makkah, Manama, Riyadh, and in 11 cities in Egypt: Greater Cairo, Alexandria, Mansoura, Tanta, Damanhur, Zagazig, Hurghada, Damietta, Ismailia, Port Said, and El Suez, in addition to the Eastern Province with plans for expansion across the region
