The Armed Forces is organising a training course for women that will participate in the UN Peacekeeping Mission in the Central African Republic in cooperation with the Cairo International Centre for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping, and Peacebuilding (CCCPA) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The session is a continuation of Egypt's role in supporting security and stability within Africa and its active participation in the peacekeeping forces of many countries.
The course includes many lectures on various topics to qualify female staff members participating in the peacekeeping operation and increase their awareness in a way that enhances their abilities in carrying out all the tasks assigned to them.
Major-General Alaa Kassem — Head of the Liaison Service for International Organisations — stressed in his speech during the opening session on Tuesday the importance of the participation of women in peacekeeping missions in a way that contributes to deepening the state of stability and peace throughout the continent, pointing to Egypt's strong and established relationship with all African countries.
For his part, Ahmed Abdel Latif — Director of the CCCPA — pointed to Egypt's pivotal role in supporting regional and international peace and security through adherence to international conventions and the principles of conflict prevention without interfering in the internal affairs of conflict-stricken countries.
Additionally, Oka Hiroshi — Japan's Ambassador in Cairo — also delivered a speech in which he praised Egypt's leading role, which is the main engine for promoting peace, security, and stability in Africa, pointing to the efforts of the Armed Forces participating in the peacekeeping operation that are supporting the process of international security and stability .
