The best way to stimulate Korean investments in Egypt is to showcase the success stories of Korean companies and ease their difficulties: Korean Ambassador
Published in Daily News Egypt on 13 - 06 - 2022

Hong Jin-wook — Korea's Ambassador in Cairo — and Egypt's Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait participated in the 'Forum on the Egyptian Government's Business Policies for Korean Companies operating in Egypt' on Sunday 12 June.
Also in attendance were Deputy Minister of Finance for Fiscal Policies Ahmed Kouchouk, Deputy Minister of Finance for Public Treasury Ehab Abu Aish, Assistant Minister of Finance Mona Nasser, Head of the Customs Authority Al-Shahat Ghaturi, and Head of the Tax Authority Reda Abdel Kader.
Meanwhile, the Korean side was represented by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), and Korean Companies operating in Egypt.
The forum aims to highlight the Egyptian government's economic reform policies, its efforts to attract foreign investment, and the support it provides to Korean companies in Egypt.
For his part, the ambassador thanked the Egyptian government's efforts to support and ease difficulties facing Korean companies. He added that the best way to stimulate Korean investments in Egypt is to showcase the success stories of Korean companies currently operating in Egypt and to continue the Egyptian government's active support to companies to stabilise their business and operation in Egypt.
Furthermore, Hong said that the forum, which was also held last year, is a significant gathering that brings together all the key players who lead the bilateral economic cooperation between the two countries, offering an exceptional opportunity to discuss plans to promote these ties.
Hong concluded his remarks by expressing hope that this meeting is held on a more regular basis to maintain its momentum.
Next up, Maait thanked Hong for hosting the forum and stressed that it is a very fruitful opportunity to help Korean companies' smooth operation in Egypt and boost bilateral economic ties.
He also stressed his keenness to support Korean companies and remove any obstacles they may face, adding that the Egyptian government's is keen to attract more Korean investments to Egypt, which would stimulate job creation in the Egyptian economy and increase the export volume.
Furthermore, Maait asserted that the Egyptian side will continue to communicate closely with the Embassy and Korean companies and offer all the support needed to help them succeed in Egypt.
