Published in Daily News Egypt on 07 - 06 - 2022

President of Iraq Barham Saleh received on Monday Foreign Minister of Egypt Sameh Shoukry and Minister of Foreign Affairs in Jordan Ayman Safadi, as part of their current visit to the Iraqi capital Baghdad.
Both ministers conveyed the greetings of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and King Abdullah II to the Iraqi president, according to Spokesperson of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Hafez.
The two ministers stressed the great interest paid by Egypt and Jordan to strengthen the various aspects of cooperation with brotherly Iraq, both in their bilateral frameworks, or through the trilateral cooperation mechanism as a model of Economic Partnership, and in support of the mechanisms of Joint Arab action.
For his part, Barham Saleh expressed his country's pride in the distinguished level reached by brotherly relations between the three countries, and Iraq's keenness to advance them to broader horizons, in a way that meets the aspirations of the peoples of the countries to prosperity and development.
In the same context, Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-kadhimi met on Monday with Shoukry and Safadi. The meeting dealt with ways to strengthen the trilateral cooperation relations in various fields, especially in economic and commercial cooperation projects.
They also discussed building on the momentum achieved within the framework of the summits that bring together the political leadership in Egypt, Jordan and Iraq, and the mandates issued by them to move forward in strengthening ties in all fields and projects that achieve common development, and in a way that ensures the direct and effective return of those projects on the peoples of the three countries.
The meeting also witnessed an exchange of views on the most prominent regional and international developments, and reflected mutual interest in the need to continue to work on concerted efforts towards the various challenges facing the Arab region, and ways to take precedence over political solutions to them.
For their part, the foreign ministers of Egypt and Jordan reaffirmed the keenness that Cairo and Amman attach to the security and stability of brotherly Iraq, within the framework of the fraternal ties between Egypt, Iraq and Jordan at the official and popular levels.
