Egyptian government allocates EGP 8bn to disburse new increases in state employees' salaries in 4Q
The Ministry of Finance allocated EGP 2.6bn to pay bonuses and increase additional incentives to salaries for April
Published in Daily News Egypt on 20 - 04 - 2022

Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait said that the ministry allocated approximately EGP 8bn as per President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi's directives to disburse new increases to state employees in the last quarter (4Q) of the current FY.
This came within the law accelerating the date of entitlement to the periodic increment, granting a special allowance to non-citizens eligible for the Civil Service Law, and increasing additional incentives as part of a package of financial and social protection measures to deal with the repercussions of global economic challenges and mitigate their effects on citizens.
Maait added that EGP 2.6bn were made available to boost the budgets of all state agencies in order to enable them to disburse new increases to workers' salaries in April starting Thursday.
The minister also noted that starting from April, periodic bonuses will be paid to those who are addressed by the provisions of the Civil Service Law, which were increased to 8% of the job's wage on 31 March with a minimum of EGP 100 per month and without a maximum limit.
Furthermore, he elaborated that state employees who are not addressed by the provisions of the Civil Service Law will be granted a special allowance of 15% of the basic wage on 31 March with a minimum of EGP 100 per month without a maximum limit. This bonus will also be part of the basic wage and will be reflected in April's salaries.
Maait confirmed that starting from the current April salary, an additional monthly incentive will be increased for employees who are addressed by the provisions of the Civil Service Law and employees not addressed by it.
