Egypt's President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi asserted that the Arabian Gulf's security is integral to preserving Egyptian national security. Al-Sisi's remarks came during his meeting with Qatar's Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani on Tuesday. Presidential Spokesperson Bassam Rady stated that the president welcomed the visit of the Qatari Foreign Minister to Cairo and asked him to convey his greetings to the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. Furthermore, Al-Sisi hailed the tangible progress in Egyptian-Qatari relations, which serves the goals and interests of the two states and strengthens efforts to maintain security and stability in the Arab region. The president also praised the important role played by Qatar in dealing with the challenges the Arab nation faces. For his part, Qatari FM Al-Thani expressed his country's keenness to consolidate relations with Egypt to enhance security and stability in the region. Moreover, Al-Thani praised Egypt's pivotal role in the region as a fundamental pillar for the security and stability of the Arab world, praising the country's keenness to strengthen solidarity among Arab countries and push forward joint Arab action. Rady explained that the meeting dealt with ways to enhance bilateral relations at various levels, the latest developments in the region, and issues of mutual concern.
