Electronic payment company, Aman for E-payments, has announced it has contracted with electronic payment solutions provider, e-finance, to offer electronic water utility bill payment in Cairo. The introduction of Aman's service to Cairo follows a successful experiment in Alexandria. Aman has also contracted with nine electricity distribution companies to enable a new digital service for paying electricity bills. This comes in addition to cooperating with Petro Trade to allow customers to pay their bills electronically. The move comes as part of Aman's increased branch presence across Egypt, which allows customers to read their gas meter and pay its value electronically through Aman's 55,000 POS at 250 branches. The company also provides a recharge service for pre-paid electricity meters. Aman CEO Mohamed Wahby said the company is working to encourage the state's plan of moving towards digital transformation and financial inclusion. The company is also working with on transforming Egypt into a cashless society, whilst also reducing dependence on cash, facilitating electronic payments, and the digital collection and payment of financial dues on time. Wahby added that modern digital payment methods have saved customers both time and effort.
