Egypt's Foreign minister Sameh Shoukry, asserted that the only settlement to the Libyan crisis is by forming an independent government, disarming the militias, and organising the army. Shoukry's remarks came during a Thursday ministerial meeting held in Algeria attended only by countries neighbouring Libya, to review the latest developments concerning the Libyan issue, according to Algerian local media. Al-Arabiya new channel reported that the meeting was attended by the foreign ministers of Tunisia, Egypt, Sudan, Chad, and Niger. During the meeting, Shoukry said that Egypt will not allow any tampering with the Libyan security and national security of the countries of the region, adding that Egypt will support the Libyan people by totally rejecting foreign attempts to rob their capabilities and violate their sovereignty. He added that Egypt is determined to materialise the outcome of the Berlin meeting in order to establish a Libyan state. Meanwhile, Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sabri Boukadoum, expressed his country's rejection for any foreign interference in the Libyan crisis. The Algerian foreign ministry stressed that the meeting falls within the framework of efforts aimed at supporting coordination and consultation between countries neighbouring Libya, noting that the latest developments taking place in Libya will be reviewed.
