First Egyptian hepatitis unit to be formed in Juba: Ministry of Health
It's part of President Al-Sisi's initiative to treat 1 million Africans with hepatitis C

Egypt's Health Minister Hala Zayed has announced sending an Egyptian medical team to South Sudan to operate the first hepatitis unit at an Egyptian clinic in Juba.
The Egyptian medical team, who are bringing the necessary medical supplies, will train South Sudanese doctors, pharmacists and laboratory officials to test for hepatitis viruses and dispense treatment, the minister said.
A member of Egypt's National Hepatitis Control Committee will remain behind to follow up on the treatments.
The team will be in South Sudan for a month. Another hepatitis team will be sent to Chad in the first week of October.
The move came as part of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi's initiative to treat 1 million Africans with hepatitis C.
In May, Al-Sisi has ordered the Health Minister to share the Egyptian expertise in the health sector with African countries, during a meeting with the Health Minister Hala Zayed to review Egypt's national health projects.
The hepatitis treatment initiative includes Sudan, Chad, Somalia, Ethiopia, and Eritrea, the presidency spokesperson Bassam Rady.
