Ministry of Environment signs two agreements with UNDP
Fouad, Nasr inaugurate investment, biodiversity forum

Egypt's Ministry of Environment, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) signed on Wednesday, an agreement for two joint projects to support the environment in Egypt which cost $ 3m.
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, and Minister of Environment, Yasmine Fouad, presented the signing of the two projects.
The first project is to list and preserve biodiversity and its sustainable use in developing tourism, in the Egyptian endangered ecological systems in Egypt. The other project is the fourth national declaration on the UN framework agreement on climate change.
Moreover, Fouad, and Investment and International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr, inaugurated on Wednesday the Investment and Biodiversity Forum.
The forum is being held on Wednesday and Thursday on the sidelines of the UN Biodiversity Conference 2018 – COP14 which will be held in Sharm El-Sheikh from 17 to 29 November.
Cristiana Pasca Palmer, the UN Assistant Secretary-General and Executive Secretary on the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, and several representatives of the private and investment sectors in Egypt and worldwide will be presenting in the forum.
During the forum's opening session, Fouad said that there are many opportunities for investing in biodiversity and environmental fields. She elaborated that during its presidency for the conference of parties (COP14), Egypt will work on merging and generalising concepts of biodiversity in investment, in order to provide a real opportunity for sustainable development.
For her part, Nasr said that investing in environmental fields is promising and needs more partnerships, pointing out that the investment community plays an important role in increasing jobs in the biodiversity field.
Palmer said that the relation between biodiversity and investment represents an opportunity for merging biodiversity in the business and investment sectors. She pointed out to the importance of preserving biodiversity.
