Egypt's President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi revealed on Tuesday that an Egypt-Bulgarian joint committee will be formed to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
"We agreed on enhancing cooperation in the fields of healthcare, technology, and digitalism," Al-Sisi said during a press conference with Bulgaria's Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.
The committee will be primarily held at the beginning of the next year in the Bulgarian capital, Sofia, then in mid-2019 in Cairo. It will be held every year alternatively in the two capitals, according to the Egyptian President.
The Syrian and Libyan crisis, and reaching a fair peace deal between Israelis and Palestinians were also discussed, Al-Sisi added.
Earlier, Al-Sisi and Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly received Borissov and a high-level delegation of top Bulgarian officials. They addressed the enhancement of bilateral cooperation and issues of common interest.
Last Monday, Al-Sisi met Lebanon's Foreign Minister, Gebran Bassil also in Cairo, with the presence of Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Soukry.
They discussed bolstering bilateral cooperation especially in the fields of energy, economy, trade and investments as well as addressing regional and international issues.
Meanwhile, Bassil delivered Al-Sisi a message from the Lebanese President Michel Aoun including an invitation to participate in the Arab Economic Summit which is scheduled to be held next January in Beirut.
The 2019 Arab Economic Summit will be held between 19-20 January 2019. It will address enhancing economic and trade cooperation between Arab countries and issues related to poverty alleviation as well as eliminating sexual abuse.
The message further included Aoun's readiness to enhance Egyptian-Lebanese relations and addressing recent regional challenges.
Furthermore, Al-Sisi hailed Lebanon's efforts in forming the country's government, asserting his support of the Lebanese people in their efforts to maintain stability.
