Thiqa, UAE's Event Gate organise TREEX exhibition in Sharjah with EGP 1bn expected sales
Event Gate plans to launch investments in Egyptian market in general, real estate market in particular
Published in Daily News Egypt on 26 - 06 - 2018

Thiqa for Real Estate and Emirates-based company Event Gate signed a partnership agreement to organise several exhibitions for different activities, starting with the TREEX real estate exhibition in Sharjah, UAE in December.
Al Thiqa Chairperson Mohamed El Dahshory said that the exhibition will be held on an area of 4,000 sqm at Expo Centre Sharjah.
El Dahshory added that the exhibition targets the participation of 70 Egyptian investment, marketing, and finance companies, as well as banks.
He noted that contractual sales exceeding EGP 1bn are expected during the exhibition's events, according to the marketing plan and the number of targeted visitors.
"The partnership aims to organise a number of exhibitions for Egyptian real estate projects and to promote them externally. These exhibitions will kick off in the UAE," pointed out El Dahshory. "Further, the exhibition aims to promote real estate projects in the UAE and support real estate developers in marketing their projects and increase sales in line with the orientations of the Egyptian state, which encourages the export of real estate abroad, especially after the advantage added by the depreciation of the pound against the dollar."
He explained that the timing of the exhibition is distinguished because it follows the Emirates National Day and is suitable for Egyptians after the end of the school season and before the summer vacation. Expo Centre Sharjah was chosen because it has a large Egyptian population and is centred in the emirates of Dubai, Sharjah, and Ajman.
El Dahshory elaborated that exporting Egyptian real estate is promising, but requires effective cooperation between the government of Egypt and developers. Also, opening new fields such as educational tourism and the construction of universities, academies, and international schools will attract students of these universities and the whole world to live in Egypt. Moreover, the government should pay attention to medical tourism to raise the quality of hospitals and doctors, as well as to make the country a global headquarters for medical science.
He stressed the importance of promoting Egypt in global marketing channels, such as airlines and international events, in accordance with professional marketing plans, as well as launching real estate exhibitions for non-Egyptians, accompanied by strong marketing campaigns for foreigners and not only for Egyptians residing in these countries.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Salem Al Kaabi, chairperson of Event Gate, said that the company is planning to operate in the Egyptian market in various activities, including launching a number of specialised exhibitions, which will include many activities besides real estate.
He noted that the company plans to launch investments in the Egyptian market in general in various fields and is studying pumping investments in the Egyptian real estate market in particular.
He added that the Egyptian real estate market has experienced a big boom in recent years. Furthermore, the Egyptian government provides multiple investment opportunities and opens new horizons for investment by establishing sophisticated new cities that are more in line with the needs of foreign buyers, especially in the New Administrative Capital and New Alamein.
