March friendly matches ignite competition among international goalscorers

The international football friendly matches held last week witnessed the scoring of many remarkable and unforgettable goals in national teams' histories.
Many international footballers succeeded in boosting their scoring chart with their national teams. The latest of these friendly games also saw Egyptian star Mohamed Salah's progress on the list of top Egyptian goalscorers with the national team.
Ronaldo strengthens his lead of Portugal's top goalscorers
Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, who has been in superb form in 2018 so far, has now climbed to the top of his national team's scoring chart after scoring twice in added time to seal a 2-1 win against Egypt in Zurich, as part of both team's preparations for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Ronaldo has now hit 81 international goals in 148 appearances with the Portuguese national team in all official and friendly tournaments since 2003 so far, making him among three of Europe's all-time top scorers.
Mohamed Salah equalises Ahmed Hassan's goal record
Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah backed up his impressive performance with the Egyptian national team in their international friendly with Portugal as he opened the scoring for the Pharaohs at the Letzigrund Stadion in Switzerland. Salah increased his international goal record to 33 goals in 57 appearances in various tournaments since 2011 at a rate of 0.58 goals per game.
Salah is now ranked the fourth among top Egyptian goalscorers in the national team history, equalising retired footballer Ahmed Hassan.
Egypt's legendary football player Hossam Hassan leads the Pharaohs' list of top goalscorers with 70 goals, followed by Hassan Al-Shazly with 42 goals and Mohamed Abu Trika with 38 goals.

Gareth Bale became Wales' top goalscorer in history
Gareth Bale scored a hat-trick in Wales' 6-0 victory over China to become the top goalscorer in the history of the Welsh team. The Real Madrid man's hat-trick saw him reach the 29-goal mark in his 69th international match, surpassing Liverpool legend Ian Rush's total of 28 goals.
Suarez scored his 50th goal with Uruguay
Barcelona and Uruguay star Luis Suarez became the first player in his country's history to reach a record of 50 goals after scoring from the penalty spot in his team's 2-0 victory over the Czech Republic in their friendly match at the Nanjing Olympic Sports Centre.
