Published in Daily News Egypt on 15 - 01 - 2018

Last year, Airbus delivered 718 aircraft to 85 customers around the world, marking an increase of 4% in deliveries over 2016, when 688 planes were sold.
According to a statement issued by the company, of which Daily News Egypt obtained a copy, the aircraft delivered in 2017 included 558 aircraft from the family of single-aisle aircraft A320, and 181 aircraft of the same family, the A320neo (new engine option)—an increase of 166% from 2016—and 67 aircraft of the A330 family, 78 A350XWB aircraft (up 60% from 2016), and 15 large A380 aircraft.
Airbus made a total of 1,019 orders from 44 customers (carriers and charter companies) around the world.
By the end of 2017, the total number of orders was 7,265 orders valued at $1.059bn, according to the listed prices.
"This year's delivery figures are the fifth best in terms of deliveries, reflecting our dedication to work and a clear indication of our readiness to keep up with the future requirements of the sector," said Fabrice Bregier, chief operating officer (COO) and president of Airbus Commercial Aircraft.

Airbus is on the right track through the assembly lines of the A320 family in Hamburg, Tianjin, and Toulouse, to achieve a production rate of 60 aircraft per month of single-aisle aircraft by mid-2019.

With regard to international expansion, Airbus' partnership with China is expanding, next to its widespread presence in the Americas. In addition to the level of service delivery around the world, Airbus is greatly enhancing its local presence to be closer to its customers.
