General Authority for Reconstruction implements 20 projects in Cairo, Giza, Qalyubia worth EGP5.7bn

Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Mostafa Madbouli announced that the Central Agency for Reconstruction and Development is currently implementing 20 projects in Cairo, Giza, Qalyubia worth EGP5bn and EGP 720m.
The minister explained that the projects implemented vary between the implementation of housing units within the social housing project, or under the umbrella of the development of slums, as well as road projects, and bridges, and the development and renovation of buildings and mosques, archaeological and other service projects.
In the same context Mohamed Nasser, head of the Central Agency for Reconstruction said 10 projects are being implemented in Cairo worth EGP1b and EGP50m.
The first project of Cairo projects is the development of the Fangari axis (south Fangri bridge) with a length of 1487m long while the second phase includes developing and improving the rain water drainage at a cost of EGP50m, according to Nasser.
He added that there are projects implemented in Cairo governorate in cooperation with other parties
These projects include the establishment of 16 buildings with 815 housing units of spaces ranging from (60 – 90 m2).
The head of the Central Agency for Reconstruction said that the total cost of investment in Giza Government is EGP4 bn and EGP314 m including the expropriation works and transfer of squires required for the construction of Rawd Al Faraj axis at a cost of EGP 2 bn and EGP 400 m.
Nasser stressed that the residential area in Matar Embaba is still being completed to include 3118 housing units and 231 shops fully equipped and also they still coordinate the site at a total cost of EGP 600 m.
He pointed out that there are other projects being implemented in cooperation with other parties, including two projects in cooperation with Giza Governorate, which are covering Al- Mansouriya Canal in the tourist area in Al-Haram at a cost of EGP 505 million, development of the Mansouriya West Road at a cost of EGP 26.8 m.
Head of the Central Agency for Reconstruction, noted that for the governorate of Qalyubia, the projects include the construction of (113) social housing buildings with a total of 2580 housing units within the social housing project and 264 shops in Al-Khanka area at a total cost of 366 m.
