Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr vowed on Sunday to support women and provide equal opportunity investment.
Nasr was speaking on the sidelines of the ìEgypt Canî event for women, which was held in Al Masah Hotel amid the participation of Egyptian women scientists and experts working abroad.
The conference witnessed the participation of 30 women serving in various leading positions in different countries.
The event is organised by the Ministry of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriate Affairs in cooperation with the National Council for Women and under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.
The conferance is a good opprtunity to discuss ways to improve the economic situation of women and give them more opportunities in the labour market and ensure greater representation in leadership positions, according to Nasr.
The economic empowerment of women should be achieved by cooperation between governments and international financing institutions, Nasr said, adding that women have a positive role in the development of society and should have equal opportunities to work and start projects that express their abilities.
Furthermore, Nasr emphasised the ministryís keenness to provide equal investment opportunities for women, such as providing the necessary funding for projects that support women breadwinners in various villages and provinces.
The minister added that these projects are small and micro-sized projects that contribute to the economic and social empowerment of women and provide them with equal opportunities in the lab or market.
She asserted that the ministry also works to quickly provide investment incentives that encourage and attract private sector investors to participate in different areas of economic activity.
