CAIRO: Henri Michel could become the second Zamalek coach to be sacked in less than two months after suffering a disastrous start to his adventure with the Cairo club, FilGoal.com learned. The Frenchman enjoyed a winning start after replacing Michel Decastel late in August when Zamalek defeated Ittihad 1-0 in the Egyptian Premier League but his joy was short-lived. The White Knights slumped to two successive defeats to Gaish and Ismaili before being held to a 1-1 draw by promoted Gouna to slip to eighth place in the table and virtually lose hopes of competing for a title they last won in 2004. A Zamalek board member, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told FilGoal.com that Michel will probably be axed if the team fail to beat another newcomers Military Production on Saturday. The 61-year-old boss returned to Zamalek for a second stint in a bid to turn around their fortunes after a disappointing start to the season under Swiss tactician Decastel. He was widely criticized for being passive against Gouna as he made just one substitution, introducing central midfielder Ibrahim Salah when Zamalek were in dire need of attacking options. He was also blamed for keeping faith with off-form striker Amr Zaki, who was nowhere near his best and was red-cared late in the game for dissent.
