CAIRO: Harras Hodoud has qualified for the final of the Egyptian Cup for the first time, thanks to a 2-1 win over Asyut Petroleum on Tuesday. Egypt forward Ahmed Eid gave the visitors a 21st minute lead, steering home Mohamed Mekki s low cross. Substitute Ahmed Mekki sealed the victory for the Alexandria team five minutes from time when he finished off a terrific team move from 12 yards. While Hodoud players were celebrating the goal, Asyut took advantage to snatch a lifeline via striker Sami Abou-Zeid. Abou-Zeid marched his way into Hodoud s empty area before firing home past Mathurin Kameni. But it was too late for Mohamed Amer s team to get back into the game. Hodoud will clash in the final with last year s finalists ENPPI, who beat Petrojet 3-1 on Monday.
