348 ships transited Suez Canal last week, with an increase of 8.75%
The average load per ship was 56,553 tonnes, compared to 56,567 tons during the previous week.

Suez Canal traffic data revealed that 348 ships transited the canal with a total load of 19.680m tonnes from 27 November to 3 December.
Data also cited that 320 vessels have transited the canal two weeks prior, carrying a total load of 18,101m tonnes.
About 50 ships transited the canal daily on average over the past week, with an average load of 2.8m tonnes per day, compared to an average of 46 ships two weeks prior with an average load of 2.6m tonnes.
The average load per ship was 56,553 tonnes, compared to 56,567 tons during the previous week.
In July 2015, before the inauguration of the New Suez Canal, the average daily number of transiting vessels was 47 vessels, with an average load of 2.758m tonnes per day.
Last week, major three Danish ships – Marchen Maersk, Merete Maersk, and Mogens Maersk – transited the canal carrying 200,360 tonnes each.
About 155 ships transited the canal heading south with a daily average of 22 ships and a total load of 8.090m of cargo, a daily average of 1.15m tonnes.
The number of ships that passed through the new channel coming from the east through the southern entrance was about 193 ships, a daily average of 28 vessels, with total loads of 11.59m tonnes, a daily average of 1.655m tonnes.
Cargo load is the main measure of shipping traffic in the Suez Canal, on which fees for the transit are calculated.
