The Ministry of Civil Aviation announced on Friday that it will put its full resources at the disposal of Egyptian airlines in order to support the tourism sector. Minister of Civil Aviation Hossam Kamal said the ministry will work with airlines to prepare a plan to increase the volume of tourists visiting Egypt, especially from Eastern Europe. Kamal made the statements after a meeting with Minister of Tourism Hisham Zaazou on Thursday. The ministers heard suggestions from airline representatives, and they agreed to start flights to Egypt's tourist spots from several international destinations. Zaazou said starting from December the ministry will launch initiatives and media campaigns to attract tourists, especially from Eastern Europe, North Africa, and China, which is considered a promising market for Egyptian tourism, according to Za'azou. The Ministry of Tourism will also launch trips at competitive prices to encourage both international and domestic tourists, especially in the holiday season, the minister said. It is also collaborating with the Ministries of Interior and Foreign Affairs to facilitate visas for tourists from North Africa. Zaazou also lauded the initiatives of some companies to launch domestic trips to Sharm El-Sheikh, Luxor and Aswan. Meanwhile, Hurghada airport received 36 international flights Friday carrying 1,650 tourists.
