A grant from the EU to Egypt worth €68m for the delivery of natural gas to homes next November: Nasr

Egypt and the European Union (EU) are to sign an agreement on 3 November, to deliver natural gas to homes with a grant worth €68m during the visit of Federica Mogherini vice-President of the European Commission to Cairo, according to the Minister of International Cooperation Sahar Nasr.
Nasr said, in a press release, that the agreement will contribute to the improvement of the lives of citizens and eliminate the problem of gas cylinders.

She also anticipated the signing of another agreement with the EU regarding the third phase of the third line of the Metro with a grant worth €40m by mid November. She added that an agreement is expected to be signed regarding the grant for the sanitation project in Kafr El-Sheikh, worth €32m, and the project to strengthen children's access to schools and risk reduction worth €30m, by the end of this year.

The Minister of International Cooperation received, Tuesday, James Moran Head of the European Union Delegation to Cairo, in the presence of Diego Escalona Paturel, Head of Operations of EU Delegation to Egypt.
Nasr said that the meeting reviewed the status of EU-funded projects within the framework of budget support programs in the fields of energy, health, water, and transportation, as well as fighting the obstacles that may face implementation of some projects and the pursuit of both parties to overcome these obstacles.

During the meeting,the European Union ambassador expressed the EU's keenness to develop areas of mutual cooperation between Egypt and the EU in the upcoming phase.
