Al-Nour Party focuses on making promises for electoral campaign

Party candidates promise voters to develop roads, schools, hospitals and health insurance

The Salafi Al-Nour Party is focusing on making reform promises for voters and providing services for citizens in its electoral campaign.
The Al-Nour Party began its campaign with statements, which included promises to develop roads, sanitation, education development, and build schools and hospitals.
Mohey El-Sisi, a party candidate, promised the people of his constituency, if elected, to provide regular maintenance to sewage lines in the area to prevent the recurring blockages that threaten the environment and citizens' public health.
El-Sisi stressed that introducing sewage systems to the area was a good move from the government, however neglecting routine maintenance means this achievement was made in vain.
He added that the reform of local council is one of his electoral programme goals, so they can better perform their assigned role. He further noted that the party is pressuring officials in the Egyptian Holding Company for Water and Wastewater to schedule routine maintenance for the lines, rather than relying on a reaction strategy that awaits the crisis instead of anticipating it.
He stressed that local councils do not play their role. He noted that when the sewer lines in Awsim were broken, the Al-Nour Party, along with residents, pressured officials to fix the problem. Despite their reluctance, the armed forces and the Arab Contractors Co. were contacted and the lines were finally fixed.
In Alexandria, Al-Nour Party candidate Ashraf Abdel Dayem said he plans to build new high schools if he wins the elections, to overcome the problem of crowded classes. He explained that the Dekheila neighbourhood does not have enough schools, despite the high population rate and the availability of lands for the schools.
Abdel Dayem stressed that the absence of these schools negatively affects parents; as the nearest schools are either in the neighbourhoods of Bitash, or in Wardian, which is a long distance to travel.
Hanan Allam, Secretary of Women's Affairs at Al-Nour Party and the party candidate on the West Delta list, also said women have a particular importance for Al-Nour Party and receive special attention. She added that the Al-Nour Party, through its programmes, provides the right environment for women to play their essential role in serving the community.
Allam added that confronting women's problems and developing appropriate solutions is among the most important issues adopted by the party, and that the party is also preparing women-oriented rehabilitation and development programmes, especially for women in rural areas and breadwinning women.
Allam noted that the party is not neglecting the development of a health insurance programme for women. She noted that the Al-Nour Party was keen on the development of training programmes to raise awareness among women.
