JWT to launch tourism promotion campaign in London: Ministry sources
Company will focus on increasing private travel flows to areas that suffer a decline in tourism, such as Luxor and Aswan

A promotion campaign for Egypt will begin at the World Travel Market Conference (WTM) in London during the first week of November, according to tourism ministry sources.
Minister of Tourism Hisham Zazou held a closed door meeting this week with advertising firm JWT and the Tourism Activation Authority to discuss the campaign plans. The sources said another meeting will be held headed by Zaazou and the Egyptian Tourism Federation within days to discuss the details of the campaign.
JWT will focus in its campaign on the upcoming winter season to increase private travel flows to areas that suffer from a decline in tourism such as Luxor and Aswan. The London exhibition will precede other international exhibitions in Western Europe, according to the sources.
The ministry will work in accordance with a separate marketing mechanism for each area, in South Sinai or the Red Sea, based on the preferences of each category of tourists.
According to a senior official in the Ministry of Tourism, the Tourism Activation Authority is communicating with Hill+Knowlton in London to revamp Egypt's image after the accidental killing of Mexican tourists in the Western Desert.
He added that the ministry, the Egyptian Federation of Chambers of Tourism and a group of hotels in different regions are preparing to launch a "knocking-on-doors" campaign in the Dutch and Belgian markets by end of October.
Daily News Egypt was informed that Al-Ahram Beverages Company (ABC) will finance the cost of the campaign in the Netherlands and Belgium using its strong relationships, especially in the Dutch market.
"The Tourism Activation Authority determined the participation cost of hotels and companies at €1,350."
An official at the Chamber of Tourism Companies said that the chamber will subsidise the flight programme for its members participating in the London exhibition at the beginning of November 2015, as they will be staying at the Hilton London Metropole Hotel.
The official added that the cost of residence for a period of five days in a double room will be EGP 15,000 per person. The cost will be subsidised by Stdaha by 50%. Meanwhile, the cost of staying in a single room is EGP 19,500, but this will be reduced to EGP 12,000.
