Published in Daily News Egypt on 18 - 02 - 2015

English players Charley Hull and Holly Claiborne were on top of the Australian Ladies Open Championship for Golf until the semi-final round in the championship held in Royal Pines Resort, Benowa, Queensland. The championship is held within ALPG Tour competitions.
The total award for the Australian championship was estimated at €250,000, while 2007's championship for women, the most costly championship, had a total awards worth €546,000, followed by 2008's championship awards, which made up to €409,000.
The history of the championship goes back to 1990, when it was held for the first time with 54 holes. Holes were later increased to 72 holes in 1994.
Australian player Karrie Webb held a record for winning the title eight times, followed by Swedish Annika Sörenstam, and English Laura Davies with three titles. Last year's title, on the other hand, went to Cheyenne Woods.
Charley Hull, 18, aims to win her second professional title within the European championship, after winning the Lalla Meryem Cup. Hull participated for the first time in the European games in 2014, as well as winning the title of LET Rookie of the Year in 2013.
Holly Claiborne, on the other hand, is fighting to win the championship title, adding another win to her European tournament after her first title in 2013 when she won Deloitte Ladies Open championship.
