Two Tamarod members were attacked on Saturday during separate incidents while gathering signatures in opposition to President Mohamed Morsi. Ali Maher, a member of the Tamarod campaign at Alexandria, received a phone call from an unknown individual asking to meet him in Semouha to sign petition forms. "When he arrived, Maher was senselessly beaten by four people shouting ‘Stop working with Tamarod'," said Tamarod media manager Mai Wahba. "They stole 2,000 signed forms and his mobile phone," she claimed, adding that Maher allegedly identified one of the attackers as a member of the Muslim Brotherhood and filed charges against him. Meanwhile, Wahba said a 19-year-old Tamarod campaigner, Mohamed Ibrahim, was stabbed outside the the Nasr mosque while he was gathering signatures on Saturday. "He was hospitalised and is in critical condition," she said. She claimed the alleged attacker was Mahmoud Nasr Abdel Bar, a nephew of the Muslim Brotherhood's Mufti, Abdelrahman Abdel Bar. "He was arrested on sight," Wahba said. However Freedom and Justice Party spokesperson in Alexandria Mohamed Soudan said he had no knowledge of the incidents. "Official measures should be taken against any person breaking the law regardless of his affiliation," he said.
