CAIRO: Ahly youngster Mostafa "Afroto Mahmoud is looking forward to establishing his first team place with the Red Devils, following Egypt s embarrassing exit from the U-20 World Cup. The midfield wizard raised eyebrows with his dazzling skills at the World Cup, despite Egypt s poor campaign on home soil. Afroto, who particularly appeared to be crying in agony after the 2-0 defeat to Costa Rica, is now willing to focus on his future with Ahly. I still have two years remaining in my contract with Ahly and I hope to stay because I have goals to achieve here, Afroto said in an interview with Ahly s official site. It is true I received a number of offers to play abroad, but I am under Ahly s command, and personally, I want to stay. I am prepared to wait for my chance with the first team and if I managed to establish my place, playing abroad will be much easier. The presence of stars like [Mohamed] Abou-Treika, [Mohamed] Barakat and [Emad] Meteb shouldn't make it difficult for me; on the contrary, it's a bigger motive to work hard in order to play with the stars. Afroto highlighted the role of manager Hossam Al-Badri in helping him and his teammates get over their recent World Cup lapse and focusing on the club. We were very happy when Al-Badri met with us after the World Cup exit. His words helped us overcome our despair and move on, the 20-year-old added. He assured us that we will form the spine of the team in future. I am very optimistic about my future with Al-Badri. He is usually willing to discover new faces and give a chance to youngsters.
