CAIRO: A three-year-old male child and his one-year-old sister have been handed over to an orphanage in Heliopolis after they were left in front of a mosque in Safir Square, reported Al Gomhoriya. After he found the kids at the door, the Imam of the mosque took them to the orphanage that reported their case to Al Nozha police station. The prosecution department ruled that they would be remanded to the orphanage's custody. The child Abdalla Shaban related that his mother left him at the door of the mosque along with his sister Sabrine and told him she would go and bring some food from the market. She dipped LE 5 in his pocket along with some sweets as she left, which proves that she meant to desert the children When asked if he wanted to go back to his parents he refused, explaining that his mother used to beat him with a stick. All he has remembered of his father was a man who did not care about him or his sister. In case the parents are not found, they will be registered under fake names, which is likely to inhibit the kids for a lifetime.
