Have car, will steal?
Published in Daily News Egypt on 09 - 12 - 2006

CAIRO: An undisclosed number of people raided a car showroom in New Maadi and walked away with seven cars before damaging the premises, reported Al-Akhbar daily.
The sabotage was said to have been an act of vengeance against the showroom's owners Tarek and Sherif Bayoumi who had earlier allegedly sold the 'raiders' a number of cars that were not cleared from customs and could not, therefore, be licensed at the traffic authority.
In the meantime, car dealer Ahmed Ali Youssef accused the same showroom of having absconded with the value of 260 vehicles he had entrusted to be sold on his behalf.
Youssef told an Al Basateen court that Tarek Bayoumi and his brothers Mohamed and Sherif, owners of Al Fursan showroom, had not handed over the LE 20 million value of the cars.
The Basateen court renewed the detention of Tarek and Sherif Bayoumi, for another 15 days pending an investigation of the accusations and complaints brought against them.
Meanwhile, the authorities are in search for their brother Mohammed Bayoumi, who has disappeared. Law-enforcement authorities have reported his name and description to all airports and other potential exists in an attempt to stop him from fleeing the country.
The duo denied their involvement in the issue claiming they had been manipulated by their brother who has since fled.
