Euromoney Conference kicks off tonight
Published in Daily News Egypt on 11 - 09 - 2006

CAIRO: The consortium of who s who in Egypt s financial affairs will all be found at the 11th annual Euromoney Egypt Conference opening tonight at the Semiramis InterContinental in Cairo. The 2-day conference attempts to bolster the host country s GDP and investments by targeting both business leaders and decision makers in a series of workshops and lectures meant to illuminate key Egyptian financial concerns.
Egyptian notables such as Secretary-General of the Arab League Amr Moussa, Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif, Minister of Finance Youssef Boutros-Ghali, and many other ministers and leading businessmen will be on hand to discuss a variety of issues critical to international partners, acquirers, investors and advisors.
Although Egypt s economy is growing, the 2006 Egypt Competitiveness Report cites limited access to finance as the biggest obstacle to Egypt s economic development. The conference will address such obstacles.
Some of the issues to be discussed include: the outlook for Egypt's economy, mobilization of private finance for economic development, the role of capital markets in corporate growth, expanding the mobile market in Egypt, energy, the new structure of Egyptian banking, securities markets, mortgage and real estate markets, and financing of Egypt s companies.
High-profile Euromoney Conferences take place world-wide and grew out of Euromoney Magazine, especially important to investors for its coverage of international finance, money and capital markets.
Euromoney is also the publisher of more than 100 magazines, newsletters and journals, as well as running business conferences, seminars, training courses and an Internet-based capital market database providing electronic business information through its emerging markets information service.
