Published in Daily News Egypt on 23 - 04 - 2008

CAIRO: Teleperformance, global expert in contact center management, has officially inaugurated its operations in Cairo.
To celebrate the occasion, a ceremony presided over by Dr Tarek Kamel, the Minister for Communications and Information Technology, was held at Teleperformance Egypt's new headquarters above the Shoubra tunnel at the newly completed Post Office building. This ceremony was followed by a press conference and a gala dinner introducing the company to the local market and media.
Launched in 1978, Teleperformance is specialized in Customer relationship management (CRM), currently operating in 45 countries worldwide with over 83,000 employees. The company's client base includes sectors such as telecommunications, internet service providers, financial services, insurance companies, technology, media, government sectors and electronic consumer goods.
"Outsourcing call center services are a major worldwide trend in all of today's markets, and many local and international companies recognize the added value of our services. Egypt is the perfect environment for such an emerging outsourcing industry, with a large, well-educated, multi-lingual workforce, and we believe that the opening of our call center in Cairo is the perfect opportunity for Teleperformance, our clients and prospects and the employees that we will recruit, said Jacques Berrebi, Teleperformance Group Chairman and CEO.
Teleperformance started operating in Egypt in January 2008, and has already built a state-of-the-art call center capable of seating over 1,000 employees which the company plans to grow to 2,300 within the next three years.
"With our major global presence and expertise and the large employee base that we are and will be recruiting and training in Egypt, there can be no doubt of the benefits that Teleperformance will bring to the country and its economy, said Yannis Tourcomanis, Director - South East Europe and Middle East
Yannis Scordilis, CEO of Teleperformance Egypt, said, "What we are bringing to Egypt is a step forward in the outsourced call center market. We have been active in the Egyptian market since January 2008, providing local and regional activities, and we are currently in the implementation stages of producing our offshore operations. Just as we are the global leader in the outsourced call center market, we plan on becoming the local and regional leader in this market.
