CAIRO/AMMAN: Intel announced in a press conference held recently in Jordan, the names of young talented students to participate in Intel's International Science and Engineering Forum in Georgia, USA. "We are extremely proud of these students. I am certain that they will honour our nation and deliver excellence in this prestigious event, Jordanian Minister of Education Dr Tayseer Al-Nouaimi said. Twelve students have been qualified to participate in Intel's International Forum after presenting six individual projects and three group projects. Among the individual projects is a device that reduces environmental pollution resulting from vehicles, and a natural dye that detects live sperms. In addition, there is a system that reduces the emission of gases from heavy industries among the group projects. "The Intel International Science and Engineering program, which is active in more than 45 countries, reflects Intel's commitment to enhance the educational process evidenced by Jordan's participation in this year's forum, said Rola Habash, Intel Education Manager in Jordan and Lebanon. This forum brought together more than 1,500 students who competed for prizes worth around $4 million in cash and scholarships. Intel's International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) is among the world's top international science fairs for students in grades 9-12, providing young talents with the chance to qualify in different scientific fields: sociology, chemistry, biochemistry, botany, computer science, geology, engineering, environment, mathematics, medicine and health, microbiology, physics, astronomy and zoology.
