Racing through Eastern Desert

The Egyptian Federation for Motor Sports in cooperation with the Automobile Club and under the supervision of the National Council for Sport organized the second edition of the Egypt Rally Cup in the period on March 5-7 in the Eastern Desert, south-west of El Gouna at the Red Sea. The rallies aim at encouraging young people to practice their favorite sport, as well as to form a national team to represent Egypt locally and internationally. Karim El Zanaty won first place in the overall standings after fierce competition with 15 teams. The race started the first phase from El Gouna Red Sea, crossing the desert and mountains surrounding the Red Sea about 200 km deep. The second phase started for a distance of 250 km in the desert with a total distance of about 450 km over the two days. /p
