Published in Daily News Egypt on 19 - 10 - 2007

The SAFE Convention, now known as the Fitness Convention of the Middle East, is going to take place in Cairo for the second time at the end of October 2007 under the patronage of Minister of Tourism Mohamed Zoheir Garranah,.
In September 2005, SAFE Academy, organized and hosted the first International Fitness Convention in the Middle East, under the name of "Global Wellness . The Convention featured some of the biggest names in the fitness industry in the world and was attended by the elite fitness professionals of Egypt, working at all fitness centers, sports clubs & hotel health clubs.
SAFE intends to maintain this tradition every two years. It makes it possible for fitness professionals in Egypt and the Middle East to acquire certifications or renew in Egypt instead of travelling abroad.
This year, after the great success of the first convention, Convention President Karim Strougo decided to take it to the next level. The 2007 convention will offer a bigger number of courses, workshops and master classes, offered by international experts. It aims to address a much wider scope of people.
This year's convention will feature some of the biggest names in the fitness industry in the world: The Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), Fitness Superstar Christi Taylor, International fitness presenters Mary Yoke and Egypt's very own International fitness presenter Karim Strougo.
In order to give the opportunity to local presenters to achieve international standards, some of the finest Egyptian fitness presenters will also teach at this event, thus placing them on the international fitness map.
Thanks to their main sponsor, Nestlé, this year's convention is going to sponsor 10 of the best students from the Faculty of Physical Education to attend a variety of workshops and master classes.
The SAFE Convention 2007 will open on the night of Oct. 25 at Step Center, with a ceremony which will be attended by some celebrities, fitness facility owners and managers, local and international press and a representative of the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism.
The Opening Ceremony will feature free lectures by elite presenters such as Dr Sherifa Aboul Fettouh, Dr Samir Fanous, Dr Abdel-Aziz El-Nemr and Strougo.
The SAFE Convention 2007 is powered by Nestlé and sponsored by Le Méridien Pyramids, Royal Azur Resort, Power Music and the Community Times Magazine with the great help and talent of Convention Media Partner, ZAk e-studio.
