CAIRO: A website launched on Monday following the Egyptian military's statements and ultimatum that gave President Mohamed Morsi 48 hours to come to a compromise with his political opponents is currently making the social media rounds. It's ticker shows the hours until the deadline comes to an end. "I think it is a lot of fun and pretty cool that they are doing that," one foreign journalist told Bikyanews.com, who has referenced the timer at least three times to gauge the time until the military deadline. "It just shows that Egyptians can be creative anytime and anywhere." As of Wednesday afternoon, the ticker had seen over 1800 comments and with less than 9 hours remaining to the deadline, the country remains on edge, waiting to see what will happen next. Massive gatherings have taken place across the country and in the main Tahrir Square where thousands have camped out calling for an end to the Morsi regime. BN
