The England women's manager Hope Powell has today announced the England Lionesses squad for the forthcoming Euro 2013 Championships in Sweden. The tournament kicks off on July 10th and concludes on July 28th at Stockholm's Friends Arena. The England squad is as follows: Karen Bardsely, Rachel Brown-Finnis, Siobhan Chamberlain, Laura Bassett, Gemma Bonner, Sophie Bradley, Lucy Bronze, Stephanie Houghton, Alex Scott, Casey Stoney, Dunia Susi, Anita Asante, Karen Carney, Jess Clarke, Jade Moore, Jordan Nobbs, Jill Scott, Fara Williams, Rachel Yankey, Eniola Aluko, Toni Duggan, Kelly Smith and Ellen White. Following a successful London 2012 (from which a large number of this squad is picked) and England's recent Cyprus Cup win, the Lionesses will be looking to go one step further than their final defeat to Germany in 2009. The inclusion of Rachel Yankey should see her break the all time appearance record for England as she currently sits on 125 caps, level with Peter Shilton. Arsenal midfielder Jordan Nobbs is rewarded for a successful year with Arsenal and England, which has seen the twenty year old cement her place in both side's starting elevens. BN
