A Syrian opposition group said on Tuesday that it is holding four United Nations soldiers at a location between Syria and the Israeli occupied Golan Heights "for their protection" after the area has recently seen heavy fighting between the Syrian army and the resistance. Reports mentioned the Syrian Air Force bombing the area that they believe to be harboring militants. The Lewaa Shohada Al-Yarmouk, a Syrian armed resistance group that affiliates itself with the Free Syrian Army, announced they are holding four UN Filipino soldiers. The group also shared a picture of the soldiers on their Facebook page, showing the four in their uniforms unharmed. The group said they were "compelled to intervene" to get the soldiers out and secure them after they saw an army cell take position close to the international troops and feared they would be caught in the ongoing fight.
