RAMALLAH: A group of Israeli soldiers seized a house and turned it into a military checkpoint in the town of Ya'bad, reports the Palestinian News Network. Ya'bad is located southwest of Jenin. The house was sized during a raid in the neighborhood of Al-Malmul. The edifice is still under construction. Israeli forces forcibly removed all of the construction workers and posted soldiers in the home in order to monitor the movements of the people in Al-Malmul. An Israeli flag can now be seen flying above the home. The confiscation of the house comes after several raids were carried out on Jenin and Nablus. On Tuesday night, over 400 soldiers went house to house conducting searches in the village of Al-Mughayyir, reports Ma'an News. Early Wednesday morning, Israeli forces raided the Al-Ein refugee camp in Nablus and arrested two Palestinians. The raids are much larger than usual with residents saying that they have not experienced incursions of this kind for decades. Recently, skirmishes between Israeli forces and Palestinian civilians have been on the rise. As of last week, six Palestinians had been killed in January and many more were wounded. BN
