Thailand teacher shot dead in front of students

BANGKOK: A schoolteacher was shot dead while having lunch with her students in the country's tense southern area, local media reported on Wednesday. The murder has shocked the Narathiwat Bacho district as violence against residents continues to foment.
Police told Bikyanews.com, in confirming reports, that the shooters then stole the teachers car and drove off. No arrests have been made.
Allegedly, four men arrived at the Ban Tanyong School on motorcycles, stormed the school grounds and murdered Chonlathee Charoenchol.
It is unclear why the murder took place and if the teacher had any connection with the warring factions in the southern part of Thailand.
