DUBAI: Representatives from Wyndham Hotel Group, the world's largest hotel company with over 7,260 hotels and part of Wyndham Worldwide Corporation, joined forces with staff from eight hotels in the region operated under the company's brands last week to clean up a section of the Jumeirah Open Beach in Dubai.
In keeping with the company's global commitment to improving the environment, the event aimed to support the local community and the area's visitors by clearing the beach of litter while also further educating participating staff members about the environment and encouraging them to engage in more sustainable activities in their day-to-day roles.
Volunteers included representatives from Wyndham Hotel Group's Dubai and London offices as well as hotel staff members in UAE from the Ramada Dubai, Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman, Ramada Downtown Burj Dubai, Ramada Jumeirah, Ramada Plaza Jumeirah Beach Residence, Ramada Chelsea Al Barsha, Ramada Sharjah, Ramada Deira, Howard Johnson Diplomat and Howard Johnson Bur Dubai.
“Wyndham Hotel Group takes sustainability very seriously and we strive to do our part to protect the environment and act as good corporate citizens," said Bani Haddad, the company's regional vice president, Middle East and Africa. “As well as helping improving the environment for tourists and locals alike by cleaning the beach, this event also gave us another opportunity to understand the importance of making more environmentally-friendly decisions."
