RAMALLAH: On Wednesday an explosion on a Tel Aviv bus injured at least 15 Israelis, reports Ha'aretz. Israeli police suspect terror, though there has yet to be confirmation. “We've heightened security around the Tel Aviv area in order to make sure no terror attacks take place," Mickey Rosenfeld, the chief of the city's police department, said in telephone interview broadcast on Al-Jazeera English television channel.He added that roadblocks may be set up. A large police presence has been deployed in Tel Aviv. Israeli sources say that all the injured victims have been transferred to a nearby hospital for medical care. Ha'aretz said a suspect was apprehended by police, and that the explosion was likely not the result of a suicide bombing but a device being placed on the bus. Tel Aviv has not been hit by a bomb blast since a suicide bombing in April 2006, according to Ha'aretz. More details to follow.
